Water Well Project

Water Well Project

 500

Description: Every year, 100,000 people—including 60,000 children—die in Pakistan due to contaminated water. Drought, poverty, rapid population growth, and pollution continue to threaten access to clean drinking water. Millions suffer from waterborne diseases and walk long distances just to access drinking water.

In many rural areas, students must leave their classes to walk miles for water, affecting their education.

At Hamidiye Foundation, we construct traditional Ottoman-style water fountains and underground water systems to provide clean drinking water in various parts of Pakistan. Our goal is to expand our impact by drilling wells in different locations each year. This term, we are focusing on villages near Mardan, Pakistan.

Donors can sponsor a water well individually, with family, friends, colleagues, or contribute any amount to the general water well project fund.

Project Phases:

  1. Location Assessment: Identifying rural areas, public schools, and mosques that lack clean water.
  2. Water Quality Control: Testing underground water in Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) laboratories for purity certification.
  3. Donor Communication: Providing donors with detailed updates and site information via a dedicated link.
  4. Construction: Building wells using traditional Ottoman-style designs, and sharing progress videos with donors.
  5. Opening Ceremony: Handing over the completed well to the local community.
  6. Donor Recognition: Sending a thank-you gift and an opening video to the donor.
  7. Maintenance: Conducting regular maintenance and inspections of the wells.
